Snorkeling Truk

There are many reefs an shallow shipwrecks that people can snorkel in Truk lagoon. This is a great way to spend decompression time between dives or a good way to sea the Micronesian underwater world if you don’t dive.
Nice patch reefs and beds of staghorn corals make snorkeling excellent around many of Chuuk’s inner-lagoon islands.

Masts and cargo booms from some of the wrecks poke up near the surface. These pillars of life are covered with encrusting sponges, table corals, sea anemones and abundant tropicals, which can be easily observed while snorkeling. The outer-lagoon islands are also scenic with healthy, intact coral and white-sand floors.
